Job Description

About DonorSearch:

DonorSearch is the leading provider of prospect research solutions that empower nonprofits, educational institutions, and other fundraising organizations to maximize their fundraising efforts. By leveraging AI-powered analytics and extensive wealth and philanthropic databases, we help organizations identify and engage with high-potential donors. We take pride in our innovative solutions, company culture, and commitment to supporting the nonprofit sector.

Job Summary:

As a Business Development Representative focused on nonprofit clients, you will play a crucial role in driving pipeline growth by identifying, qualifying, and booking high-quality leads for our Account Executive team. This role is specifically focused on the nonprofit sector, where you’ll engage with development and fundraising professionals to understand their challenges and introduce our SaaS solutions that empower mission-driven organizations to fundraise more effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively prospect and provide cold outreach (via email, phone, and social media) to nonprofit organizations, especially in development, advancement and donor relations roles.
  • Qualify outbound leads based on defined ideal customer profiles and hand off opportunities to Account Executives.
  • Book product demos for the Account Executives by highlighting the value of seeing the platform in action to help prospects visualize how it can solve their specific fundraising challenges.
  • Consistently meet or exceed key performance metrics, including daily outreach activity (calls, emails, social touches), weekly demos booked, and weekly demos completed to ensure a healthy and predictable sales pipeline.
  • Work fluently across multiple software platforms (e.g., CRM, sales engagement tools, data enrichment platforms, and communication platforms) to ensure accurate data upkeep, lead tracking, and reporting.
  • Quickly conduct contact research and data verification to ensure outreach is targeted to the right decision-makers, increasing the likelihood of meaningful engagement and conversation.
  • Maintain data integrity by following company guidelines for data entry, upkeep, tracking and reporting to ensure accurate and actionable sales intelligence.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to all prospect responses to ensure a high-quality experience and maximizing engagement opportunities.
  • Engage prospects across multiple verticals by aligning outreach messaging to their specific sector challenges and priorities, with the ability to pivot messaging strategies as needed to improve response and engagement.
  • Stay informed on nonprofit sector trends to enhance outreach relevance and engagement.

Key Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of SaaS business development experience (nonprofit vertical preferred)
  • Consultative sales approach with strong discovery, storytelling, and objection-handling skills.
  • Passion for the nonprofit sector and empathy for the unique needs of mission-driven teams.
  • Knowledge of the donor lifecycle and fundraising best practices is a plus
  • Fast learner with an inquisitive nature and ability to absorb diverse information across multiple verticals, enabling tailored and meaningful engagement based on each prospect’s unique needs.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a values-driven or vertical SaaS company.
  • Resilience – ability to handle rejection and bounce back quickly, maintaining a positive attitude and focus on the next opportunity.
  • Prior work or volunteer experience with a nonprofit organization preferred
  • A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This remote, full-time position offers an annual salary based on experience with an additional performance bonus. We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer subsidy, 401(k) with company match, STD/LTD, voluntary life insurance, 3 weeks’ paid time off, 10 paid holidays, tuition reimbursement program, corporate philanthropy program, 2 in-person all-staff retreats each year, and personal and professional development opportunities.
